When you contact TriSouth, you can start to
relax. We’ll ask you some simple questions to find out
who needs care, what the patient’s symptoms are, what
specialists might be needed, and how soon care needs to begin.
With these answers, we can determine the services you need.
Your home health care nurse will oversee everything, from
scheduling other care providers to ordering any special equipment
or supplies you may need.
And because you might have questions when
your doctor’s office is closed, we’re here for
you around the clock. You can call our toll free number, 866-523-2505,
any time of day or night to get information from a friendly,
reassuring – and highly trained – professional
who will walk you through the process.
Top 5 Reasons to use
TriSouth Health Services
1. Compassion
We understand that there is often emotional, physical, and
financial stress associated with using home health care. Our
clinical professionals, home health aides, and office staff
are fully aware that you need your questions answered and
your medical needs attended to. They also know it’s
important to do so in a manner that makes you comfortable
and helps you or your loved one live the best life possible.
2. Availability, 24/7
Whether you have planned in advance for home health care or
face a crisis and need an immediate solution, we are available
to you when you need us, where you need us. Our staff can
be reached all day and night, all week, every day of the year,
including holidays. And we have the resources to provide you
with care, no matter what. For example, if your nurse is sick,
you won’t go without services you require – we
can send in a back-up at moment’s notice.
3. Understanding
We understand that you and your loved ones live in the real
world, dealing with all of life’s ups and downs. We
understand when your parents want to live in their own home
but you can’t be with them all the time. We understand
when your wife will need help getting around, bathing, and
taking care of her wounds after she leaves the hospital. We
understand when your father is cranky because he needs to
give up his favorite foods, now that he’s been diagnosed
with heart failure and diabetes. No matter your situation,
we understand how to provide the highest quality home health
care when, where, and how you need it.
4. Services
Too often, home health care is misunderstood as being just
for older people. We do offer more senior care services than
most home health care organizations, but TriSouth provides
much more. We have services for pregnant women and their newborns,
for children suffering from chronic illnesses, and for adults
of any age recovering from surgery.
5. Being #1 with Doctors and Hospitals
Our reputation with our doctors and hospitals is stellar.
Every day, we work with medical professionals to ensure your
smooth transition from hospital to home and coordinate your
Plan of Care. Doctors and hospital personnel know they can
count on us to give you the highest quality home care possible
– and you can count on us to be reliable, compassionate,
and knowledgeable.

Wound Care
Each year, thousands of patients throughout
the North Carolina and South Carolina area are discharged
from the hospital with slow-healing surgical wounds. Others
suffering from chronic conditions, like diabetes, often have
wounds or open sores that don’t heal easily. To prevent
infections and other serious complications once a patient
has left the hospital, getting proper wound care at home is
critical.
At TriSouth, we aim to provide the highest
level of wound care for our patients. A skilled nurse will
work closely with each patient to establish a treatment plan
and evaluate progress every step of the way.
While specific treatments may vary by patient,
our nurses can provide the following wound-care services:
- Basic Wound Care: cleaning wounds,
and changing wound dressings and administering
antibiotic therapy (if prescribed).
- Self Care Training: education
for patients and caregivers on how to change wound dressings,
monitor healing, manage pain, and recognize potential complications.
- Cutting-Edge Treatment:
state-of-the-art therapies such as Vacuum Assisted
Closure (VAC),
which employs suction technology to stimulate tissue growth
and heal wounds faster. Our
nurses also may take digital photos of wounds and email
them to patient’s doctors, for
consultation.

Monitoring
Vital Signs
At TriSouth, we want to help you live your
best life possible – and stay healthy. One of the most
effective ways to do so is by carefully monitoring basic vital
signs, which allows us to identify problems early and take
measures to prevent them from becoming serious. During home
visits, we check and review your overall condition and teach
you about your body, so you can take control of your own health
and spot potential symptoms.
For example, a two-pound weight gain for a
person in good health may not be significant, but for a patient
with congestive heart failure, it can signal a major medical
problem. Our nurses teach you about your specific condition
and ensure that any changes are evaluated, communicated to
your doctor and treated.
To help maintain your health, our nurses:
- Check your vital signs, including your
blood pressure, pulse, body temperature, respiration
rate, and weight.
- Teach you how to use a blood pressure
cuff and other equipment, if necessary.
- Provide self-care and education materials
about your specific illness.
- Help you evaluate changes in vital signs
and recognize potential complications.

Administering
Medication
Medication can work wonders
– they can prevent and control illness, relieve pain,
and fight infection. However, if they’re taken incorrectly
or in the wrong combination, medicines can also cause serious
problems. TriSouth Health Services can help patients manage
their medications, making sure they take the right dose on
the right day or at the right time.
Our skilled home care professionals will:
- Help you organize your pills and create
an easy and effective system for tracking your daily
medications
- Pre-pour or pre-measure medications for
you
- Check to make sure prescriptions are filled
and expiration dates are noted
- Assess the effectiveness of medications
and monitor potential side effects
- Work with your doctor and pharmacist to
prevent dangerous drug interactions
- Develop reminder systems and extra safety
precautions
- Help you plan for travel and other changes
to your daily routine
